6w5d

Heaviness in my lower belly, cramps and extreme exhaustion! This is where I am at. I am lucky that if I don't feel well, I have been able to leave work or work from home as I am doing today.

We are so excited as today we should be able to see and hear heartbeat (s)!!!

Update.

We saw two heartbeats today, but baby B is measuring 5 days smaller at 6w2d and has a heartbeat of only 72bpm. According to Google, this isn't good and Dr Yeh wants to see us back on Monday for another u/s and bloodwork before he goes out of town. Baby A is doing great, measuring 2 days ahead of schedule at 7w0d and had a heartbeat of 117bpm.

Both girls will make it and thrive. I refuse to think otherwise. I personally think that baby B will catch up as the split happened later. My girls will be fighters just like their mom. They will define all odds.

Nick and I are discussing getting a bigger house that will accommodate twins better. We need a second bedroom on the first floor. We are going to an open house on Sunday to see a home that will fit all our needs as a growing family. We are also researching a new vehicle for me, one that will work for twins and a 9 year old. I am against a minivan, so we will see what we find.

Not one, but TWO! 5W5D

I am not easily surprised and shocked. I have to know everything.

At our ultrasound on Friday, the doctor asked, "Remind me, did you transfer one or two?" And I was like, "WHY?".

On Monday, there was only one sac on the ultrasound. By, Friday, the embryo had split and there were TWO sacs on the screen!!! Identical TWIN girls!

Nick was at my feet watching the ultrasound and he said he saw two before the doctor pointed it out, his face drained of ALL color! The great debate in our home was whether to transfer 1 or 2. And after a confirmed singleton pregnancy, now we were talking TWINS. Total and complete shocker!

Baby on the left was measuring right on schedule, but baby on the right wasn't measurable yet. From what I read in the beginning, that is the case until baby B catches up.

I am beyond thrilled. Best friends. Sisters. I CANNOT wait!
