Injection Day 2

January 7, 2017

Injection Day 2 - Acupuncture - 11am

Today was the first of weekly acupuncture sessions that I would have.  My fertility clinic recommends acupuncture during IVF and I intended to follow all advice to have a successful pregnancy.

I found Stephen Stein at Balance Houston Acupuncture online. He is located in the Heights in this cute house shared by a Midwifery and Lactation practice. I was the only patient there this Saturday morning. After a few forms and some history on why I was there, we got started. It was the coldest day of the winter season, I remembered to bring shorts and a tank with me, as having had acupuncture previously, I knew he would need to place on various parts of my body that would be covered due to the cold.

I am naturally a high strung, type A personality, so managing stress was also key for the acupuncture along with blood flow to my uterus. Several needles were placed in my ear, forehead, top of my head, hands, legs, feet and abdomen. Pretty much everywhere! I laid still in the room listening to calm music for 25 minutes. Stephen also placed several small beads in my ear to keep in for 3-4 days. The ear is critical he told me. I was told I would feel tired afterwards and boy, was I! I felt lazy and wiped the rest of the day. Even as I type this and it's 5pm.
